Players are reporting an unusually high number of League of Legends crashes — both in game and idling in client — since Patch 10.7. Here’s how you can fix that.
Having issues with downloading League of Legends? Any errors or bugs in the LoL Client you need help fixing? Look no further! Run the Game from Installation Directory. This is the simplest and basic method to troubleshoot.
Patch 10.7 has been riddled with performance issues for League of Legends players. From login issues and disconnects, to constant crashes, the latest update hasn’t been the most smooth for players to use.

Riot has been quick on solving some of these issues, fixing up the servers in a maintenance update on April 7. However, players are still noting an unusually high crash rate. There is an easy fix though, so don’t stress.

The problem lays in the log files for the game. While the logs are a handy way of noting player info, a bug was discovered where the logs kept writing information.
This meant the text files quickly ramped up in size, from an average of around a megabyte to over a gigabyte, and in some cases, up to 34GB.
Having files this big just doing nothing is a huge performance killer for all programs, not just League. So, if you noticed your PC running slow after a few games, as well as League constantly crashing, deleting the log files are a simple fix.
You can freely delete all files in your Logs folder for League to help boost performance.
Navigating to find the log files is super easy, however they are stored in two different places.

The first one is pretty easy, if you installed League in the default directory. Going through your drive via Riot Games > League of Legends > Logs > LeagueClient Logs should pull up all recent logs. You can freely delete them to help free up some space.

The other location is under your AppData folder. On Windows, pull up the start menu by hitting the Windows key, or clicking in the bottom left corner. Then, look up “%AppData%.” From there, navigate through to AppData > Local > Riot Games > Riot Client > Logs, and delete all logs.

This should free up a bunch of disk space, and solve all your crashing issues since the Patch 10.7 update. If it doesn’t, double check no Riot Games processes are up in your Task Manager, and give your computer a quick restart for good measure.

This problem should only be affecting Windows users and not Mac users. However, if you are experiencing crashes on the Apple operating system, hunting down your League logs folder and deleting all files should do the trick.
